Anthropic launches 10 finance agent templates for Claude Code
Anthropic released ready-to-run finance templates for pitchbooks, valuation reviews, KYC, and month-end close across Cowork, Claude Code, and Managed Agents. Use them to start with bundled connectors, skills, and subagents instead of building each workflow from scratch.

TL;DR
- Anthropic shipped 10 ready-to-run finance agent templates, covering work from pitchbooks and earnings review to KYC screening and month-end close, according to claudeai's launch post and the official announcement.
- The packaging is the real product: as claudeai's thread puts it, each template bundles connectors, skills, and subagents, and Anthropic's post says the same templates run in Claude Cowork, Claude Code, or as cookbooks for Claude Managed Agents.
- Anthropic also added Microsoft 365 add-ins, so Claude can move work across Excel, PowerPoint, and Word now, with Outlook listed as coming soon in the official announcement and echoed by ai_for_success's summary.
- The launch is tied to Anthropic's finance data push: the company says Claude already connects to platforms like FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, and Morningstar, while new partners add more connectors plus a Moody's MCP app in the official announcement.
- Anthropic also used the launch to push a model claim, saying Claude Opus 4.7 leads Vals AI's Finance Agent benchmark at 64.37%, a figure repeated in rohanpaul_ai's recap and the official announcement.
Anthropic's own post is worth browsing because it spells out the full 10-agent list, not just the headline examples. The same page also sneaks in the Microsoft 365 add-ins, a longer connector roster, and a Moody's MCP app that embeds proprietary credit data inside Claude.
Finance agent templates
Anthropic grouped the new templates into two buckets in its announcement:
- Research and client coverage
- Finance and operations
That list is broader than the launch tweet. claudeai's post named pitchbooks, valuation reviews, and month-end close, while the announcement adds general-ledger reconciliation, statement audit, earnings review, and meeting prep.
Skills, connectors, and subagents
Anthropic describes each template in the announcement as a reference architecture with three parts:
- Skills: task instructions and domain knowledge
- Connectors: governed access to the underlying data
- Subagents: extra Claude models called for narrower jobs such as comparables selection or methodology checks
The deployment split is also concrete. In Claude Cowork or Claude Code, Anthropic says the template runs alongside an analyst on desktop tools. As a Managed Agent, the same cookbook moves to the Claude Platform with long-running sessions, per-tool permissions, managed credential vaults, and an audit log in the Claude Console, per the announcement.
Microsoft 365 surfaces
The product expansion here is not only finance-specific prompts. Anthropic says Claude now works through add-ins for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with Outlook coming soon, and that context carries between apps so a model started in Excel can turn into a deck in PowerPoint without restating the work in between in the announcement.
The examples in the post are unusually specific:
- Excel: build models from filings and data feeds, audit formulas, run sensitivity analysis
- PowerPoint: draft decks that update when underlying numbers change
- Word: edit credit memos against house templates
- Outlook: triage inbox, arrange meetings, draft replies in a user's voice
Anthropic also says users in Claude Cowork can assign tasks by text or voice through Dispatch, and let Claude keep working on local files while they are away from their desk in the announcement.
Connectors and benchmark claim
Anthropic positioned the templates as part of a larger finance stack. Its solutions page says Claude already connects to systems including FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, MSCI, PitchBook, Morningstar, Chronograph, LSEG, and Daloopa.
The announcement adds eight new connectors:
- Dun & Bradstreet
- Fiscal AI
- Financial Modeling Prep
- Guidepoint
- IBISWorld
- SS&C IntraLinks
- Third Bridge
- Verisk
It also adds a Moody's MCP app for proprietary credit ratings and company data, and ties the whole release to Claude Opus 4.7, which Anthropic says scores 64.37% on Vals AI's Finance Agent benchmark.
Availability
Anthropic says the finance agents are available today in its financial services marketplace as plugins for Claude Cowork and Claude Code on paid plans, or as Managed Agents in public beta on the Claude Platform. The new connectors and Moody's MCP app are also limited to joint customers on paid plans, while the Excel, PowerPoint, and Word add-ins are generally available and Outlook is still listed as coming soon in the announcement.
