Hailuo opened a $1,000 Light Studio relighting challenge that accepts 10-second to 2-minute videos or multi-image posts. The campaign sits alongside Hong Kong workshops and hackathon appearances aimed at moving creators from simple prompts to production workflows.

The challenge is narrowly scoped around Hailuo Light Studio, not general AI art. According to Hailuo’s promo graphic, creators need to make something in the tool, publish either a short video or a multi-image post, tag Hailuo with the campaign hashtag, and then submit the post link. The prize stack is split between one $1,000 cash winner and multiple credit tiers, which makes it read as both a marketing campaign and a prompt to generate a library of public relighting examples.
That fits the rest of Hailuo’s current outreach. The CUHK announcement pitches an “AI is Shaping the Creative Industries” masterclass aimed at taking people from prompting to production-ready AIGC, and the same post references a 36-hour HKUST film hackathon where students use Hailuo video tools under real production constraints. In practice, the creative brief seems less about abstract prompt experimentation and more about showing a controllable before-and-after lighting workflow that can travel across social posts, short-form video, and film exercises. Hailuo’s own repost of a creator yelling “Relight!!” around a single-frame lighting transformation in the demo repost reinforces that positioning.
