Claude Fable 5 is Anthropic's generally available fifth-generation Claude model release for demanding reasoning, long-horizon agentic work, coding, knowledge work, and vision tasks. It is exposed in the API as claude-fable-5 and includes safeguards that may refuse or fall back on some requests.

Prices are USD per MTok. Prompt caching for Claude Fable 5: 5-minute cache writes $12.50/MTok, 1-hour cache writes $20/MTok, cache hits & refreshes $1/MTok.

The official models overview identifies Claude Fable 5 as a current Anthropic model and states current Claude models support text and image input with text output.
