TL;DR

The Relight interface includes a 3D preview for positioning lights around a subject. A reference-image mode can also transfer lighting from a photograph.

Flat-lit stills

The four source images came from Magnific One, using 21:9 framing, a muted palette and soft haze. Flat lighting was the smart constraint, deliberately chosen to leave room for relighting.

For the supermarket frame, Magnific used this prompt:

Cinematic film still. A young man in a slightly too big brown suit stands frozen in the middle of a quiet old supermarket aisle, holding a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a single carton of eggs in the other, looking lost and nervous. Soft flat neutral daylight, muted desaturated colors, nothing saturated, no colored lights.

Four-second motion

Each still became the start frame for a four-second Seedance 2.5 clip, and Magnific used one prompt for all four:

Slow, smooth cinematic dolly move, like a real film camera on tracks, with subtle parallax. The subject keeps doing what they are doing in the image with small, natural, realistic movements: a breath, a blink, a slight gesture.

Haze and dust drift slowly in the air. Mood: quiet, intimate, cinematic. Color grade: muted desaturated film palette, pale mint and creamy whites, low contrast, fine grain.

Keep the framing, lighting and look exactly as the image.

Video Relight controls

Magnific dropped the animated clip into Video Relight, then followed three steps:

  1. Chose a light direction: front, back, top or sides.
  2. Picked a color, with the option to add more lights.
  3. Set the intensity and generated the result.

1080p output, credits and flicker

Video Relight has its own workspace and accepts uploads or clips from History, according to Magnific’s guide.

  • Output: Video renders at 1080p, according to Magnific’s documentation.
  • Credits: Video relighting costs 120 to 450 credits per second on Premium, according to the editing credits table. At that rate, a four-second pass would consume 480 to 1,800 credits, before generating the still and animation. The same page lists unlimited editing for Premium+, Business and Pro.
  • Flicker: Videos can show inconsistent lighting between frames, a problem covered in Magnific’s troubleshooting notes. The company’s suggested fixes are lower intensity or simpler lighting setups with fewer lights and less extreme angles.
