Pika adds Camera Director controls inside ChatGPT
Pika’s Camera Director demo adds camera moves while preserving a clip’s performance inside ChatGPT. Related demos transfer a filmed dance to another character and save mascot reference sheets for later shoots.

TL;DR
- Camera Director is the standout control: Pika says its demo changes camera movement while preserving the clip’s original performance.
- Reusable characters get two workflows: Motion Transfer borrows movement from filmed footage, while Character Studio saves mascot references for later shoots.
- Web art direction also runs through the plugin: MengTo’s Codex demo uses generated section designs as references for a Three.js landing page.
Pika’s ChatGPT integration page also describes an editing timeline that can regenerate individual clips. Its gallery even includes a two-host video podcast tool that starts from a topic or script.
Camera Director
An orbit and a slow push-in are among the demonstrated camera moves. Pika says Camera Director applies them to an existing clip while leaving the subject’s performance unchanged.
Motion Transfer
A filmed reference supplies the movement for another character. Pika’s Motion Transfer demo applies a human dance performance to a 3D character, with the workflow running inside ChatGPT.
Character Studio
Character Studio generates a mascot reference sheet and saves the character to the library for later shoots, according to Pika. The example includes full-body, portrait, and expression references.
Product Shot and Product Ad
The product demos cover two different outputs:
- Product Shot: an uploaded photo becomes a styled product still, as in Pika’s corn-candle example.
- Product Ad: an image and a brief become a commercial, according to Pika’s tool description. The armchair demo includes a voiceover.
Website references before Three.js
MengTo used Pika for art direction inside Codex in a roadster landing-page demo. His prompt specified a sequence:
- Use Tesla’s Roadster site as the reference, with a dark-mode treatment.
- Generate visual designs for each website section using Pika.
- Use those designs as references before recreating the site in Three.js.
The prompt requested a 3D result scoring at least 8 out of 10. MengTo later acknowledged that the agent “had a hard time.”

ChatGPT access and Pika credits
For a simpler example, tranmautritam posted an animation made directly inside ChatGPT, without switching back and forth to Pika.
The ChatGPT listing supports choosing an app from a gallery or describing the desired output, uploading media, and continuing from earlier results.
Installation requires signing in to Pika and authorizing access, according to Pika’s setup guide. Installing alone does not start a generation.
Generation spends Pika credits, and the plugin shows an estimated cost by default. Pika’s billing documentation says credit use varies by feature, resolution, and length.
The creator also advertised 250 bonus credits after a first video generated through the plugin in a follow-up.
