The dedicated machine is the product's defining unit. The launch describes agents with their own computer, durable conversations, and access to the apps people already use, rather than a browser session that ends with a chat.

petergyang's comparison treats that persistent desktop as the reason for a more focused experience, while flagging fewer ways to run multiple threads of the same workflow.

Five bots, five jobs

petergyang's tutorial breaks the first set of jobs into five named roles:

  1. An advisor that creates and manages bots.
  2. A YouTube researcher that finds outlier videos.
  3. An X scout for viral and funny posts.
  4. A digital Marie Kondo for inbox cleanup and subscription savings.
  5. A travel concierge for cheaper trips.

The same tour tests a Gamer bot on Doom, Red Alert, and Commander Keen, making the cloud computer part of the demo rather than hidden infrastructure.

The chief-of-staff router

The multi-agent pattern is less about a single Bot doing everything than one Bot dispatching the rest. aakashgupta's version uses a shared thread and a chief-of-staff mission that hands work across bots, resolves dependencies, and escalates only the items requiring a human decision.

The premise has an outside data point: In Parallel's survey of 247 managers in five countries found a reported 16.5 hours a week spent on coordination. The system only routes work it can see, aakashgupta noted in aakashgupta's post, leaving uncaptured conversations outside the loop.

Commander Keen on the cloud desktop

The game experiment establishes a low-stakes version of desktop control. petergyang navigates the remote environment, launches Commander Keen, and plays it in the browser, but says the stream has lag.

The X connector

The persistent desktop does not eliminate authentication friction. In petergyang's test, Grok Bot reported that X had signed in but its official connector was blocked because the developer app was not enrolled in a project; a separate cloud-desktop X login was temporarily limited.

The setup guide lists SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium as eligible plans, with desktop apps for macOS and Windows and iOS support. It also says Grok Bot requires cloud data storage, while the team documentation says Legacy Privacy Mode blocks the product entirely; there is no Linux desktop app.
