Magnific shows one-character JRPG trailer workflow with plugin and MCP finishing
Magnific used one pixel-art character reference to generate a trailer’s worlds, combat scenes, menus, dialogue boxes, and title cards. The workflow composites assets with prompts and finishes through its plugin and MCP.

TL;DR

- Adjacent Magnific demos use the same reference discipline: techhalla's Seedance setup uses one GPT-2 image plus Seedance 2.0, while Magnific's Kling short-film opener frames a whole short around characters, wardrobe, locations, props, video, and sound.
Magnific's MCP page puts generation, editing, creation history, and Spaces inside Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, VS Code, Gemini, and Hermes. The MCP docs add the budgeting detail: runs use the same Magnific account credits. The Premiere Pro plugin page says the panel works in Premiere Pro 2025 v25.6 or later, and the Seedance 2.0 page frames multi-reference character consistency as a first-class video feature.
A trailer for a game that may never exist
Magnific framed the JRPG piece as a trailer first, not a playable build. Its standalone clip says, "The game may never exist. But the trailer does now."
That makes the workflow more useful for pitch films, art direction tests, game mood boards, and campaign teasers than for production asset export.
One Lucas reference
The workflow starts with Lucas, a single generated RPG hero used as the character reference in every subsequent prompt.
The anchor prompt packs the reusable identity into one block:
- Medium: pixel art with visible pixels.
- Character: young male RPG hero, spiky dark hair, large dark eyes, serious expression.
- Costume: long black hooded coat with gold trim, belt, dark pants, brown boots.
- Prop: sword sheathed at the left hip.
- Pose: full-body, front-facing idle sprite.
- Lighting: teal and dark green dungeon ambience, torchlight, amber embers.
- Style: 16-bit HD-2X JRPG character sprite.
The important move is boring and production-friendly: generate the character once, then stop reinventing him.
World and combat passes
World scenes reused the same style phrase, "pixel art, visible pixels, detailed scene," plus the Lucas reference. Combat prompts changed the encounter while keeping the character intact.
The scene prompts split cleanly:
- World: tavern, forest shrine, village square, town bulletin board.
- Combat: forest-road wolf pack, flooded-crypt undead knight.
- Continuity handle: Lucas stays as the reference image while the environment and enemy state change.
Generated JRPG UI
The sharpest part is the UI prompt: Magnific treated menus as composited scene assets, with interface copy, cursor state, and quest rewards written directly into the generation.
The bulletin board prompt asked for:
- The base scene, characters, lighting, colors, and composition to remain unchanged.
- Lucas moved directly in front of the board.
- A dark semi-transparent JRPG quest panel.
- Three quest entries with reward amounts.
- A pointing-hand cursor on the first entry.
- Bottom text reading "ACCEPT / DECLINE".
- Negative constraints against photorealism, 3D rendering, UHD smoothness, and non-pixel styling.
The character creation screen used the same grammar for a different UI state: name field, HP, MP, TP bars, strength, magic, agility, defense, class icons, and a confirm panel.
Dialogue boxes and title cards
Dialogue boxes were built as assets first, then composited into scenes with a two-image prompt.
The pipeline was:
- Generate an empty RPG dialogue box as its own asset.
- Feed "img1 dialogue box, img2 scene" into the next prompt.
- Write the dialogue text in the prompt.
Title and ending screens came from the same prompt system, including a "LUCAS AND THE HOLLOW CROWN" coming-soon card and a "MAGNIFIC PRESENTS..." opening-credit style screen.
Premiere and MCP finishing
The final cut was edited with the Magnific plugin in Adobe Premiere, according to Magnific's finishing note. The official Premiere plugin page describes generation, upscaling, and editing directly in the timeline without export and re-import steps.
The MCP route turns the same platform into an agent-callable toolset. Magnific's MCP post says images and final videos can be generated directly from the Magnific MCP, available on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Codex, Cursor, and more.
The official MCP docs say the remote server can generate images and video, train consistent characters, upscale assets, and browse generation history from chat.
Seedance shot chains
A separate Magnific workflow from techhalla used one starting image, then chained references through Seedance 2.0 for consistency across more than 15 shots.
The shot chain was short:
- Use GPT-2 inside Magnific for one image with two clearly defined characters and pre-battle staging, as techhalla's starting-frame post describes.
- Feed the image into Seedance 2.0 for the first animated cut, using a prompt with action and effects, as shown in the animation step.
- Use the previous video as the next reference to lock consistency, according to techhalla's reference-chain post.
Magnific also posted four Claude Fable 5 alternative endings rendered in Seedance 2.0: the first appears in Magnific's ending thread, followed by ending 2 in the second clip, ending 3 in the third clip, and ending 4 in the fourth clip.
The shared ending script rules were concrete:
- Include a character sheet, or put the character bible at the start.
- Use negative words such as "no dialogue," "no lip movement," "wordless," and "silent".
- Structure 15 seconds as setup from 0 to 5 seconds, action from 5 to 10 seconds, reveal from 10 to 15 seconds.
- Specify camera movement, emotion, and blocking per shot.
- End on a freeze frame plus music sting.
Short-film asset bibles
Magnific's Kling collaboration used the same reference-first logic on a fuller short-film pipeline: characters, wardrobe, locations, props, video, and sound.
Pre-production came before generation. Magnific's planning step lists story, visual style, characters, camera language, and shot list, then says a shared project folder structure was created through Claude and the Magnific MCP.
The asset rules were stricter than the JRPG trailer:
- Characters: Magnific's character step reused one neutral identity reference per character in Nano Banana Pro for poses and expressions.
- Wardrobe: Magnific's wardrobe step generated outfits already worn by the character, including dry and wet variants.
- Locations: Magnific's location-bible step used world rules, forbidden elements, and one anchor prop per place.
- Animation: Magnific's Kling step upscaled every asset before animation, locked a start frame per shot, and told Kling 3.0 who moves and who stays still.
- Audio: Magnific's sound step generated ambient SFX without music, then saved music for Mia's magic discovery.
The official Kling 3.0 page matches that workflow with 15-second clips, locked-in characters, customizable multi-shots, native audio, and multi-character reference.
InDesign plugin
Magnific also shipped its plugin into Adobe InDesign during the same evidence window, extending the same "stay inside the app" pattern to layout work.
The plugin post lists four layout-native features:
- Generate images with the latest models.
- Place editable vectors as native SVG.
- Upscale to 4K for print.
- Relight, create mockups, and remove backgrounds without leaving the page.
The official InDesign plugin page adds that results arrive as linked assets in the document and require InDesign 2025 v20.0 or later with an active internet connection while generating.
