TL;DR

An editing timeline inside ChatGPT can regenerate individual clips and add transitions. Pika’s ChatGPT app gallery also includes lip-sync and outfit swaps alongside the post-production tools.

Swap Anything

Swap Anything is the standout: Pika says it can replace a clip’s scene or subject while retaining the original movement. The input is an existing performance, with a prompt supplying the new art direction.

Relight Media

Relight Media works on photos as well as video. Pika’s demonstration offers three lighting looks:

  • Golden Hour
  • Moonlight
  • Full Drama

Camera Director

Camera Director changes the camera treatment around an existing clip, while Pika says the performance stays unchanged. Its demonstrated moves include:

  • An orbit
  • A slow push-in

Soundtrack

Pika describes Soundtrack as scoring to picture: it generates music and ambience timed to the supplied video’s action. The demonstration presents this as a single request in ChatGPT.

Character Studio and Motion Transfer

  • Character Studio creates a full character reference sheet and saves the character to the library for later use.
  • Motion Transfer takes movement from a reference video and applies it to another character, with dancing as Pika’s example.

Product Shot and Product Ad

  • Product Shot turns a reference product photo into a studio-style still. The demonstrated prompt specifies a black-gradient background and a lit candle.
  • Product Ad creates a complete commercial from a product image and brief. Pika’s armchair example includes voiceover.

Design references before Three.js

For a roadster landing page, MengTo used Pika for art direction inside Codex. His prompt separated the work into three parts:

  1. Brief: a Tesla-inspired car page in dark mode.
  2. Art direction: generate an image reference for every section before coding.
  3. Build: recreate the design in 3D with Three.js.

Access and credits

Connecting through the Pika plugin listing requires signing into Pika and authorizing access. Pika’s setup page says installation alone does not generate media; generations consume Pika credits, with estimated costs shown by default before a run.

  • Subscription: Pika’s Starter plan lists 900 monthly credits for $10 per month.
  • Promotion: in an early walkthrough, tranmautritam advertised 250 bonus credits after a first video generated through the plugin.
