TL;DR

The bot screenshots quoted posts for Threads and LinkedIn, carrying the embedded conversation into the repost. The official Grok Bot template guide says shared templates exclude custom scripts and secrets.

Platform rules

Reposty preserves the source post's wording by default, a promise LLMJunky reaffirmed in a reply about authenticity. The creator specifies six formatting and routing behaviors in the launch post:

  • Instagram: images and videos only, skipping text-only posts.
  • Threads: all posts, automatically split into threads past 500 characters.
  • LinkedIn: the full post plus media.
  • Quote tweets: screenshots of the quoted post for Threads and LinkedIn.
  • Hashtags: a few platform-native hashtags added to the repost.
  • Other destinations: any platform Buffer supports, with custom rules.

Leaving the writing alone is the best feature here.

Scheduled polling and custom rules

Reposty checks the source account by polling, LLMJunky explains in a reply, and runs on a schedule chosen by the user. That polling behavior means the template periodically checks for posts rather than requiring the author to trigger each repost.

Platform rules can be changed by talking to the bot, the creator says when asked about bespoke behavior. Reposty's Instagram filter and Threads splitting are defaults, not fixed behavior for every copy.

LLMJunky had earlier pitched automations that “reframe and repost” X content before releasing this wording-preserving template.

Template access and API credits

Reposty is available as a copyable Grok Bot template. xAI's installation walkthrough shows a review of the template's context and integrations before Add Bot creates a separate copy.

Included plugins must be reinstalled in the new copy. The shared template supplies the workflow blueprint rather than the creator's already-configured installation.

The launch post listed X API credits as required. LLMJunky subsequently corrected that claim, saying, “You dont* need x api credits apparently.”

Buffer publishing limits

Reposty's claim of support for all Buffer platforms comes with account-type restrictions in Buffer's channel documentation:

  • Instagram: Business and Creator accounts support publishing; Personal accounts use notification publishing only.
  • Facebook: Pages support publishing; groups use notification publishing only. Personal profiles cannot be connected.

Buffer lists 10 queued posts per channel on its free plan. Essentials offers unlimited scheduled posts at $5 per channel per month when billed annually, or $60 per year per channel.
