Seedance 2.5 reportedly lands on Dreamina with 30-second video tests

Creators report Seedance 2.5 is live in Dreamina and have posted 30-second text-to-video tests. One early user says 15-second clips cost slightly under twice Seedance 2.0.

TL;DR

ByteDance's launch post includes the real feature list: 30-second single-pass clips, multi-round extensions, timestamp-level edits, green screen edits, camera perspective edits, and 50 total reference assets. Runway's product page already lists Seedance 2.5 as coming soon. The messy bit is access: CharaspowerAI says 2.5 landed on Dreamina, while Aireiter's route check found several public surfaces still showing coming-soon or 2.0 states around the July 31 rollout.

30-second Dreamina test

The live-access claim is simple: CharaspowerAI's post says Seedance 2.5 landed on Dreamina and shows a full 30-second text-to-video test.

ByteDance says 2.5 extends single-pass generation from 15 seconds to 30 seconds, with stronger transitions, scene changes, and audio-video continuity in longer clips in its official launch post.

Official feature list

ByteDance's published 2.5 upgrade is a workflow jump for directors who already plan shots, references, and revisions before generating.

  • 30-second audio-video generation: one pass can produce a 30-second clip.
  • Multi-round extensions: generated clips can be extended while preserving characters, environments, pacing, and audiovisual style.
  • 50 reference assets: one pass can include up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips.
  • Clay, motion, and creative references: the model can follow blocking, subject motion, camera paths, and lighting cues from reference material.
  • Timestamp-level editing: prompts can target specific time ranges during generation or after generation.
  • Green screen and camera edits: ByteDance says 2.5 can replace backgrounds, alter camera movement, and keep the subject intact.

The fine print matters for production work: ByteDance says complex physical motion and scenes with multiple interacting subjects still have room to improve.

Platform rollout

ByteDance named Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro as access routes on day one, with API access coming soon through BytePlus ModelArk. A separate BytePlus Lumina page frames July access around 30-second generation, multimodal asset control, and region-level editing.

Creator platforms are already turning the model into a distribution race:

  • Pika said Seedance 2.5 is arriving soon on Pika.
  • Magnific teased a first look, powered by BytePlus.
  • Runway's public product page lists Seedance 2.5 as coming soon.
  • ImagineArt was flagged by AIwithSynthia as “not too far,” with a reply claiming videos can run longer than 30 seconds.

For creators already using Seedance as a shot engine, the Runway angle is about consolidation: GlennHasABeard described Seedance 2.5 inside Runway as generating and editing in the same place.

Clip cost

A creator who said they had access, QualitativAi, put the early Dreamina cost at slightly under 2x Seedance 2.0 for 15-second clips, scaling linearly to 30-second generations.

Aireiter's July 31 check found a ModelArk model ID, dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628, and estimated BytePlus API pricing around 47% higher than Seedance 2.0 at 480p and 54% higher at 720p. That route check also found public access was not yet universal across Jimeng, Dreamina, Runway, Pika, and ModelArk at the time checked.

Agency spend

The price talk landed because some Seedance users already spend real production money. 0xInk_ said they had spent almost $10,000 after months of using Seedance 2 and could feel the model's limits.

In 0xInk_'s agency reply, the same creator said that kind of spend was easy to reach when making longer brand videos for an agency. GlennHasABeard put the same pressure in credit terms: prompt adherence has to be good enough that generated clips feel worth the spend.

720p draft workflow

One practical Seedance 2.0 workflow survived the 2.5 hype: rough the shot cheaply, then pay for the final resolution.

Uncanny_Harry described the process in four steps:

  1. Generate in Seedance 720p unlimited.
  2. Refine the prompt until the generation is in the right ballpark.
  3. Cut the video.
  4. Regenerate the final in 1080p or 4K.

The same thread said 1080p unlimited appeared to be removed, while 720p Seedance remained available in Explore mode on the Max plan according to one reply and another reply.
