MiniMax H3 tests in ComfyUI expose object interaction errors
GlennHasABeard tested sequential motion and object interactions with MiniMax H3 in ComfyUI. The fixed-camera clips use Topaz upscaling, and one repeatedly opens a lid from the wrong end.

TL;DR
- MiniMax H3 clips ran locally in ComfyUI, then went through Topaz for a 4K finish, according to GlennHasABeard.
- Ordered motion gets an explicit count: the mouse prompt asks for five wind-up toys to pass through a cat flap “one at a time.”
- Object handling still slips: H3 repeatedly peeled a food-tin lid from the wrong end, GlennHasABeard reported in the lid test.
An extra empty flap swing costs one clause, GlennHasABeard says. A ball returns by itself in the fetch clip. Native open-weight H3 output has a 768-pixel short edge at 24fps, according to ComfyUI’s official guide.
Local ComfyUI renders
GlennHasABeard lists four production settings alongside the window prompt, with a different camera height for the other tests:
- Generation: MiniMax H3 open weights, rendered locally in ComfyUI.
- Duration: 15 seconds.
- Camera: locked at floor height for the mice, ball and food tin; locked, straight-on for the window.
- Finish: Topaz upscaling to 4K.
The posts describe the action and camera setup, but do not list GPU hardware or render times.
Five mice and five paw prints
Two published prompts make the ordering explicit:
- Cat flap: “five small wind-up toy mice roll through it one at a time.”
- Window: “five paw prints appear one at a time, walking in a line across the glass,” as written in the window post.
A cat under the sofa
Only a paw appears in the fetch clip. GlennHasABeard says keeping the cat under the sofa keeps it “on model”, a neat continuity cheat.
Native H3 templates
ComfyUI’s native workflow documentation provides three template paths:
- Text-to-video.
- Image-to-video.
- Reference-to-video.
H3 also accepts timed shot blocks with camera and audio directions, as described in ComfyUI’s prompt guide. Those supported modes do not establish which template GlennHasABeard used for these clips.

A lid peeled from the wrong end
GlennHasABeard says H3 repeatedly peeled the food-tin lid away from the ring pull. He kept the best take despite the error; the prompt’s surprise was a tiny goldfish swimming in clear water inside the tin.
