TL;DR

A reviewer agent leaves a lighting note while a builder produces a shot list in the Black Mamba preview. Selling reusable creative workflows is the cleverest part of the marketplace preview, which shelves a shot-list MCP tool alongside LUTs and foley packs.

Pro v5 release

Dustin Hollywood, Stages AI’s founder, says he has signed off on Pro v5 for release next week. Beyond the redesign, he names six additions:

  1. Creator Marketplace
  2. FRAME, a social and collaboration platform inside Stages.
  3. Projects
  4. SIM, Stages Instant Messenger.
  5. AGENTIX, described on the official product page as an in-canvas agent crew.
  6. STAGES Connect

The SIM preview includes production chat rooms, direct messages and away statuses.

Black Mamba

Black Mamba gives a team of agents context about the project, with separate chats where creators can inject messages and content. The preview assigns four roles:

  • Builder: plans and produces media.
  • Reviewer: critiques and approves work.
  • Designer: designs the creative package.
  • Researcher: interviews, researches and cites.

Three node tools

Hollywood says he built three distinct node tools, with support for custom workflows and reuse of built-in workflows:

  1. Visual boards: moodboarding, iteration, client presentations and planning.
  2. Agent workflow builder: mass-content production and connected generation workflows.
  3. Writing mind map: story development with an agent, connecting a story bible, characters, beats, scenes and script blocks.

Creator storefronts

Creators will get their own storefronts for content and production know-how. The Creator Studio product selector offers eight types:

  • Production Kit
  • Automation
  • Image Pack
  • Video Pack
  • Tool / Plugin
  • Learning
  • Dataset
  • Casting Kit

The marketplace preview extends beyond generated media to products such as a teaser-cut automation and a directing course.

CS desktop and mobile remote

The separate CS desktop app is described as coming “very soon,” with a mobile remote shown alongside it. Hollywood has also previewed prompt-led character generation in the desktop app.

The next-week commitment applies to Pro v5; his desktop announcement uses the broader “very soon” timing.

Access and credits

Existing subscriptions on the public pricing page include:

  • Free: 50 one-time starter credits and 10 CUE conversations per day.
  • Creator, $29/month: bring-your-own-key access, with no included generation credits.
  • Creator Plus, $89/month: 6,000 monthly generation credits and 150 training credits.
  • Pro, $159/month: 10,500 monthly generation credits and 300 training credits.

Tools require the relevant provider API keys unless they have a platform-covered path. Pro credits expire at the end of each billing cycle.

Feature-film credit estimates

Hollywood is preparing two feature films using Stages and production partners, according to the production announcement. In the thread accompanying his live-visuals teaser, he gives two feature-length video-generation estimates at 720p:

  • Seedance 2: about 1.6 million credits for 776 shots, targeting 90–100 minutes.
  • Seedance 2.5: about 2.6 million credits for roughly 98 minutes.
