Dustin Hollywood demos music-video editing with Stages AI's CUE agent
Dustin Hollywood says Stages AI's CUE agent edited his images and mastered song into a video, including vocal stem separation and effects. The desktop app is not yet released.

TL;DR
- CUE handled a music-video edit from supplied images and a mastered song, including vocal isolation and effects, according to the demo post.
- The agent tried multiple scene edits and combined selected parts, its creator says in a follow-up.
- The desktop app is unreleased, with public access promised “soon” in a reply.
Dustin Hollywood, Stages’ founder and CEO, says he provided thousands of hours of recorded work for CUE to learn from. On a separate film, the agent created character voice-reference files without being asked.
Images and a mastered song
Hollywood had already shared a short CUE-cut montage. For the music-video demo, he says he supplied his own images and a full mastered song to CUE in the local Stages CS desktop app, then left the agent to take the project through to export.
LET ME DROWN, the song named in the editing timeline, appears on his five-track ESC FEST 2026 playlist on Suno.
Vocal stems and a 12-clip export
CUE isolated vocals for effects and assembled its preferred portions of multiple scene edits, Hollywood says in his follow-up. His previous work supplied the reference for editing taste.
The export brief is refreshingly exact:
- Deliverable: 12 clips across 30 seconds, exported as MP4 at 1920 × 1080 and 30 fps.
- Audio: Preserve the original stereo WAV at unity gain and normal speed; mute generated video audio.
- Editing: Preserve cuts, eased camera moves and transitions.
- Spending: Use existing media only, with no generation or purchases.
- Review scope: Fast-cut review; lip-sync approval is outside the brief.
GLASS CITY and shot-length routing
Hollywood gave CUE 52 pages of treatment and prompts for an expanded GLASS CITY, then let it work in the cloud while he flew. He describes model selection and a production mistake in his update:
- Animation: Hailuo H3 Max was the model he named for the run.
- Short inserts: He says CUE can choose Grok or other models for one- to two-second shots, avoiding longer generations that would be trimmed down.
- Duplicate work: CUE recreated shots he had already made because he had not instructed it to leave those alone.
For a separate film, THE BEGINNING, he reported passing 60 minutes completed, alongside short excerpts.
Character and effects continuity
Hollywood also shows CUE operating Stages Pro through the desktop Stages CS app. A GLASS CITY shot prompt specifies:
- An exact continuity frame, preserving wardrobe, injury, lighting and black hair.
- Kenji remaining offscreen, with Kai’s mouth moving only for his own line.
- Two audio references used for voice identity, without repeating their source dialogue.
- Specified dialogue with rain and room tone, excluding music, subtitles and narration.
Effects entering and leaving frame are the focus of another continuity test. Hollywood describes tracking, adjustment and QA across longer sequences as work for the agent.
Desktop release and live shows
The desktop app remains a preview. Hollywood says release is coming “soon”, without giving a date; the Stages website offers sign-ups for release news.
Escape AI and Reactor are among the collaborators on his planned live audiovisual project. His music-video post describes a local desktop session, while the GLASS CITY run explicitly used the cloud.
Blender and TouchDesigner
During his CapCut visit, Hollywood presented ECLIPTIC: EPILOGUE episodes 1 to 4. He says CUE was simultaneously working on a Halloween concept on his hotel-room computer, using Blender and TouchDesigner from a concept he supplied through prompts.
