TL;DR

SpAItial's capture guide calls for slow close-ups to preserve readable text, and warns that the floor behind the person scanning is easy to miss. The App Store listing says reconstruction continues in the cloud after the app closes, with optional notifications when the world is ready.

Generative reconstruction

Echo-2 turned a single photo or panorama into an explorable world; Echo-3 uses a more detailed phone capture, according to SpAItial's October 27 launch post.

SpAItial treats reconstruction as a form of generation: the model preserves captured regions and completes missing surfaces to match their surroundings. The company says reconstructed dimensions and distances match the real space.

Polycam, KIRI Engine and Scaniverse

SpAItial claims state-of-the-art reconstruction quality, with cleaner geometry and better-preserved detail.

Its published comparison reconstructs the same scene with Polycam, KIRI Engine and Niantic Scaniverse, following similar capture paths and showing matching viewpoints. SpAItial says its result has no visible “floaters,” the stray fragments suspended in space; the write-up supplies no numerical reconstruction-error result.

iPhone capture

Capture works on Pro and non-Pro iPhones, and SpAItial says Android is coming soon. The app requires iOS 18 or later.

LiDAR is optional for capture. LiDAR-equipped Pro models add live coverage guidance and a dense point-cloud preview, according to the app's device requirements.

SpAItial describes three stages on its capture page:

  1. Capture: A slow walk records the space. The capture guide calls for views from multiple corners, including the floor and ceiling.
  2. Generate: The scan is saved on the phone for review, then uploaded for cloud processing. Echo-3 reconstructs a photorealistic Gaussian Splat scene at real-world scale.
  3. Explore and share: The result supports navigation, measurements and a shareable link that opens in a browser.

SpAItial's capture guide also calls for consistent lighting and doors opened before recording begins. Opening doors mid-scan can introduce artifacts or gaps.

SPZ, SOG, meshes, normals and depth

The creator-friendly detail is the export menu: one capture supplies five representations.

  • SPZ
  • SOG
  • Meshes
  • Normals
  • Depth

SpAItial calls these production-ready outputs and names VFX and simulation among their downstream uses.

Houses, galleries and workshops

SpAItial has published phone-captured worlds in its interactive gallery. Examples include:

  • House with Fireplace Lounge
  • Museum Gallery with Modern Paintings
  • Robotics Workshop
  • Colorful Cafe with Mezzanine

The House with Fireplace Lounge also has a minimap, the company confirmed in a reply.

Credits and commercial rights

Creating a world costs 300 credits per recorded scan minute, with a 900-credit minimum, according to the App Store listing.

| Plan | Monthly credits | Advertised scan allowance | Usage rights |
| --- | ---: | --- | --- |
| Standard | 7,500 | Up to 25 scan minutes | Non-commercial |
| Pro | 15,000 | Up to 50 scan minutes | Commercial |

Monthly and annual subscriptions are offered. The UK storefront lists Standard purchases at £49.99 and £499.99, and Pro purchases at £99.99 and £999.99.

Eligible new subscribers receive a one-month introductory trial, matching SpAItial's trial announcement. Active subscribers can purchase additional credit packs.

Enterprise API

Enterprise customers can integrate Echo-3 through its API, as SpAItial confirmed in a reply. Enquiries go to partnerships@spaitial.ai.

SpAItial's enterprise programme provides:

  • A named technical contact through evaluation, integration and rollout.
  • API access, usage limits and commercial terms matched to expected production volume.
  • Integration support for existing tools, viewers and simulation systems.
