TL;DR

  • Runway Ads generates on-brand video ads from creative direction, with Lovable among its existing users, according to Runway’s announcement.
  • Campaign results inform the next round of variants through the generate, approve, publish and learn workflow on Runway’s linked product page.
  • Direct publishing has conflicting availability descriptions: Runway’s linked page says “coming soon,” while its help guide documents a manual Publish action.

Agent can turn one ad into 20 variations, and a brand kit can start from a guidelines PDF or Figma file. Runway’s adjacent App Studio can package an Agent session or Workflow into a reusable creative app.

Creative direction and ad variants

Agent asks for approval of its plan and estimated credit cost before generation, a welcome cost check for batch work, according to Runway’s creation guide.

The guide describes five starting points:

  • Prompt: describe an ad and optionally attach a product image or reference.
  • Remix: select an existing ad from a connected account.
  • 20 variations: generate a testing batch from one ad.
  • Ideas: request concepts based on business information and campaign performance.
  • Templates: start from a static or video ad layout.

Localization extends to product screenshots as well as voiceovers, following the team’s brand rules, according to Runway’s product page. Variants are also automatically reformatted for different placements and aspect ratios.

Approval and publishing

Admins can approve individual variations or request changes across an entire concept. A concept needs every required platform size before approval becomes available, under Runway’s review rules.

Runway connects to Meta, Google and TikTok and says performance from those accounts informs subsequent creative rounds.

Direct publishing remains labeled “coming soon” in the product-page FAQ. The help guide describes a manual publishing flow that creates a paused ad inside an existing ad set or ad group; spending begins only after someone activates it in the ad platform.

The same guide says results appear alongside a running variation after the next data sync.

Campaign examples

Lovable already uses Runway Ads to scale creative and reduce production time, according to Runway’s announcement. Creator iamneubert points to an ad the team made for $9 the previous month as material to scale through the new product.

Runway also reports changes in its own paid advertising program since July 2026 on its product page:

  • Weekly ad output: 77 → approximately 900.
  • Return on ad spend: 2×.
  • Conversion: +34%.
  • Cost per subscriber: −41%.

The company says click-through rate held steady over that period. These are figures from Runway’s own campaigns.

Five App Studio tools

Alongside Ads, Runway introduced App Studio, which turns a plain-language description into a working tool powered by its models.

Runway’s examples cover five production tasks:

  1. Character Swap: replaces the cast in an uploaded video with a new character, without reshooting.
  2. Style Out: builds character lineups and production sheets with hair, makeup and wardrobe styling.
  3. Precise Edit: retouches annotated areas of an image while leaving the rest untouched.
  4. Product Shoot: turns one product photo into campaign scenes with different settings and styles.
  5. Table Read: assigns distinct voices to script characters so a scene can be heard before shooting.

Runway Ads is included with every paid Runway plan. Generation spends existing workspace credits at the usual rates.

Connecting accounts and syncing performance data consume no credits, according to the creation guide. A connected ad account is optional for generating creative, but required for remixing existing ads and using their performance data.
