TL;DR

  • Pika now offers more than 40 task-specific creative apps, spanning finishing edits to full video ads, according to Pika's announcement.
  • Existing media feeds dedicated finishing tools: Camera Director reframes shots, while Color Grade adjusts tonality and colorizes black-and-white content.
  • Dialogue and product spots get their own workflows: Podcast Video stages two-character discussions, and Product Ad turns product photos into ads.
  • Creators can access the new web platform, while developers can build through Pika's API club.

Pika's app library puts Google's Veo 3.1 and OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 alongside its task-specific tools. Product Ad's public page displays a 15-second, 16:9 setup.

Camera Director

An uploaded clip becomes the source for alternate coverage in Camera Director. Pika lists framing options including:

  • Extreme wide.
  • Close-up.
  • Cowboy shot.

The app also generates camera movement, with Pika saying the original scene is maintained as the framing changes.

Podcast Video

Podcast Video's app page describes three setup choices:

  • Who takes part in the discussion.
  • What they discuss.
  • The styled set where it happens.

The app can develop the episode from a topic or work from a supplied script.

Color Grade

Color Grade's app page splits grading into three modes:

  • From a reference.
  • From a preset.
  • Through manual controls.

Additional notes can fine-tune the requested look. Pika says the tool works on images and clips, including colorizing black-and-white material.

Product Ad

Product Ad combines a product image with a creative brief, according to its app page. Pika explicitly includes phone photos among the possible starting assets.

Video, sound and character tools

Beyond the four highlighted demos, Pika's homepage lists these production tools:

  • Video Studio: short clips through 30-second, multi-shot videos.
  • Extend Video: additional generated frames to lengthen an existing clip.
  • Pika Soundtrack: music, ambience and Foley scored to the on-screen action.
  • Edit Image: swapping, removing or restyling elements within an image.
  • Character Studio: customizable characters that can be reused across creations.
  • Image Studio: image generation with creative controls.
  • Product Shot: styled product imagery without a photoshoot.

Ideogram image editing

Pika has also added Ideogram 4.5 for image editing, with its announcement promising to preserve surrounding details during changes. Its demonstrated workflow combines selection of an image region with a text instruction.

API access

Developers can build through Pika's API club; the API documentation describes self-serve onboarding with no waitlist or sales contact.

  • One key: access to image, video, audio, music, speech, transcription, dubbing, upscaling and language-model operations.
  • Prepaid generation: a funded balance is required before the first submission. There is no free generation tier or separate test environment.
  • Request-level pricing: the catalog carries live prices, and price quotes are free to call.
  • Asynchronous jobs: media operations take seconds to minutes, with results retrieved through polling or signed webhooks.
