What are creators actually testing?

The clearest workflow experiment is video-to-video reframing. ProperPrompter's conversion demo shows a 16:9 clip turned into 9:16 with the plain instruction “create a portrait mode version of the video,” which is a strong sign that quick social repurposing may be one of Seedance's most usable near-term jobs.

Other tests are less about utility and more about range. Kaigani's CPP post and follow-up Midjourney frame test suggest Seedance can take a stylized still as a starting frame and carry it into motion, while Artedeingenio's fight demo says a 3,049-character prompt got close to the model's limit and was detailed enough to evoke recognizable characters without naming them.

Where does it still break?

The failure modes are already pretty specific. One creator's continuity note says shot-to-shot consistency is still unreliable, and reposted criticism around complex transitions points in the same direction transition issues.

In Artedeingenio's fight demo, the weak point is a slow-motion jump where the character's body twists unnaturally, which is exactly the kind of motion error that matters if you're trying to cut together action, ads, or music-video beats without cleanup passes.
